Today’s Featured Band are The Forms, Brass Bed, Telegraph Canyon, and RYAT. Check out these and 40 other amazing bands TONIGHT at Foburg Fest.
TELEGRAPH CANYON has been touring the US behind its rustic, organic tones of harmonica, viola, organ and acoustic guitar behind such acts as Dr. Dog, Devotchka, and many others. See them 11pm tonight at the Dirty Coast Showcase at the Allways Lounge.
BRASS BED has that perfect balance of snappy cutting-edge rock & roll tunes with retro touches and echoes. Their sonic mix recalls the dynamic, ever-evolving pop symphonics of bands like The Flaming Lips and Neutral Milk Hotel, anchored by a high-energy, straight-ahead approach to rocking. Check them out at 12:30 Tonight at the Powdered Sugar Showcase at Blue Nile Upstairs

THE FORMS are an aggro-artsy trio fond of awkward time signatures, sly rhythmic manipulation, curlicuing vocal lines… These guys make a virtue out of attention-deficit disorder. See them 7pm today at the Easy Apply showcase (with Free Food!) at the Allways Lounge.

RYAT makes you think of a marching band with electronics and samplers involved….amazingly catchy, electronic, big-beat jams that will have you bobbing your head and shaking your booty at the same time, looking like a complete idiot. See them at 11:30 tonight at the Simple Play showcase at One Eyed Jacks

We’re moving on up in the world. Instead of a tent on the gravel lot, we will be right across the street at Fair Folks & a Goat. We are really excited to have our home base at this great location.

DAS RACIST is a Weed Edge / Hare Krishna Hard Core / Art Rap / Freak Folk Music trio from Brooklyn. Their rhymes are smart, funny, and delivered with a lazy loquaciousness that’s instantly appealing.

THE HOOD INTERNET are alchemists of sorts, distilling a mixture of indie and hip-hop into dance-your-ass-off gold. Like laptop-armed alchemists, they draw from their expansive interest in the many faces of modern music and re-imagine songs for mass public consumption.
VIVA CITY (UK) are an über-cool four-piece mashing d’n’b-flavoured electro beats with alt-indie sounds. Hailing from Newcastle, these glam-punk upstarts craft raucous tunes that demand your attention.
